General Information
Different mathematical methodologies can be used to study the many facets of tumor biology. The 2nd summer school of our MCRTN will focus on some different modeling approaches, both discrete and continuous, for the study of 3 key areas in tumor biology: (1) Tumor growth, (2) Tumor vascularization and (3) Tumor Metastasis. Within this framework, the summer school will present 3 mathematical concept-areas modeling such aspects of tumor biology: (i) Population Balance Laws, (ii) Mechanical aspects of tumor growth and (iii) Individual based modeling.
The summer school will take place immediately after the euroconference "Which mathematics for biology?", which will focus on different modeling frameworks for studying spatial aspects in developmental biology.
